About Jacob

Jacob Schechter is the co-founder of Youth Capital Initiative (YCI) and attends Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach, FL, where he will graduate in 2026. Jacob has long been immersing himself in the world of business, economics, and investing, opening his first investment portfolio at the age of 14. 
Jacob’s interest in the subject of finance stems from his family; his grandfather and mother have a combined 61 years of experience on Wall St. and helped Jacob with his start to his investment portfolio. In time, Jacob’s knowledge of the market has grown significantly. He also is a contributing member of the Cardinal Newman Financial Literacy Club and helped grow it into one of the largest clubs on campus. He also is editor in chief at the Cardinal Newman High School Newspaper Club, keeping his peers up to date on current events. 
Outside the world of academics, Jacob’s proficiency in business and marketing have helped him become who he is today. He has monetized two successful YouTube channels, accruing over 600,000 views on both. In the past year, he has started his own T-shirt company where he grew a successful online store.
At home, Jacob’s business-focused mind is always at work, helping out whenever he can on the financial aspects of his father’s real estate investment. As someone who deeply cares about others, Jacob strives to make a difference in his community and beyond. By racking up hundreds of community service hours, as well as coaching youth soccer, Jacob aims to impact those around him in the most positive way he can. Through this initiative, Jacob aims to provide every young person, regardless of their background, with the financial knowledge and resources needed to create a stable and successful future.
